The lives as successful, hard-working women are constantly on the go.
We're smashing goals, breaking barriers, and doing it all with style.
But let's be real for a moment.
When was the last time you felt deeply connected, not just networked?
The future has many opportunities and is coming at us faster than ever. And with this come some very sad truths.
In 2024, the prevalence of anxiety and depression among women highlights significant mental health challenges. Anxiety disorders, which include conditions like Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder (PD), and Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), show a notable gender disparity.
For instance, about 23.4% of women experience an anxiety disorder, compared to 14.3% of men. Women are twice as likely to be affected by GAD and PD. Moreover, specific phobias affect 19.3 million adults, or 9.1% of the U.S. population, with women being twice as likely as men to be affected. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affects 7.7 million adults, or 3.6% of the U.S. population, and women are five times more likely than men to be affected by this disorder.
Depression also presents a significant issue for women. More than 8% of adults over the age of 20 have reported experiencing depression during a given two-week period, with the prevalence among women being almost double that of men (10.4% in women compared to 5.5% in men). Women are 2-3 times more likely than men to develop depression. Major Depressive Disorder is the most commonly diagnosed form of depression, with around 16.1 million adults in the U.S. having experienced at least one major depressive episode in the last year.
These statistics underline the importance of mental health awareness and the need for effective support and treatment options for women facing these challenges.
Having faced our own challenges with mental health, we found each-other and our why and brought our passion together to do what we can and make a positive difference.
